November Update

Reaching Here

Dear Pastor and Church,

I sit here pondering what to say to help you see the need for church planting.

The scripture that gripped my heart this week in my devotions is found in Jeremiah 2:5

Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

I felt like I was reading a newspaper about the day in which we live. Oh, the need is truly great.

Rose Rock Baptist Church in Noble, OK turned one yr. old on Nov. 4th. God blessed them with 48 in attendance and one being baptized.

This last Friday, I was able to perform the first wedding for the young church.   The young man that got married has just been saved a little over a year and about 4 months ago took over the preaching in the local nursing home. Beth Haven blessed Rose Rock by providing new carpet for the auditorium, so I went ahead and put ceramic tile in the entries.  It looks very nice and is all paid for.  God is So Good!

I am still trying to get into more churches and share what we are trying to accomplish in the Oklahoma City area, but it is tough getting ahold of pastors. Support has not been quick to come in but it’s exciting to see pastors and churches see what they could do in their own area.  I pray we will see a revival in church planting.

The wife and I have had a few medical issues this past couple of months, but thanks to the Lord there has been nothing serious. The doctors just say hurting is normal, get used to it. I’d much rather learn to fly by way of rapture, amen! Until that day, we plan to just keep going forward for the Lord.

Please pray for North Haven Baptist that God would provide for a permanent building. The Isom family needs your prayers that they could find a home in the Noble area that would meet their need. As for the Carters, we would ask you to pray for our support and our preparation for the next church plant.

For the souls of men,

Rick Carter Sr.
